Rapid Emergency Deployment (RED) Team

Human Relief Organization seeks humanitarians ready to deploy in the case of a disaster or emergency. The ideal candidate will be ready to deploy with one week’s notice. Team members will conduct initial needs assessments, coordinate with acting agencies, and design and implement relief projects.
For inclusion in the Rapid Emergency Deployment (RED) Teams HRO conducts a level of prescreening, training and requires an ability to deploy with short notice.

Members of the RED Teams are expected to have specific skill sets and/or previous experience.

Assignments as short as 2 weeks may be accepted.

HRO provides for food, housing and logistical support to RED Team members. Professional volunteers who can cover their own fare may receive preference.

HRO provides specific pre-departure training opportunities for volunteers who have been selected for participation in HRO’s RED Teams.
